
Special programs
Accelerated master's program
Outstanding students may earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree in journalism in less than five years. Students apply for the accelerated program during their junior year. Seniors take graduate-level courses in one of the following concentrations:
- Broadcast news
- Magazine publishing
- Newspaper administration
- Reporting and writing
Five-year journalism and music (BM/BSJ or BAMus/BSJ)
One of the three officially recognized dual degree programs through the Bienen School of Music, students in this program must be admitted to both the Bienen School of Music and the Medill School of Journalism. Interested students should indicate they are applying to this program on their application to Northwestern.
