Questions and Answers
Why did you choose Northwestern?
My criteria for the college that I wanted to attend consisted of the following:
- It had to be big but not too big
- It had to be in an atmosphere that was different than Texas
- It had to have an exceptional academic program, especially in the field of engineering
- And it had to be in an area that snowed because Texas never gets snow!
I chose Northwestern because it met all of these criteria and its uniqueness appealed to me.
What inspires you most?
I admire those who have struggled to be who they are, and gone against the odds to be different and obtain success in spite of obstacles or in spite of how others would perceive them.
What is the best thing about being a student at Northwestern?
The feeling of freedom that I receive by walking on campus. The feeling of success as I walk among my peers and realize that Northwestern is filled with so many talented students.
What is your favorite piece of music?
Songs in A Minor by Alicia Keys (if you made a soundtrack of my life all the songs from that album would be in there!)
What is your favorite spot on campus?
Chillin' by Lake Michigan! God's creation at its best! It is a great place to think!
What truth have you pursued or discovered at Northwestern?
The truth that I have discovered is this: The things you thought you knew, you are still learning about them or you don't know. Also, the people that you think you know can turn out to be complete strangers. College is about learning, and, no matter what, your perspective of life will change.
