Overnight visits

The Northwestern University Overnight Office is now accepting reservations for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Overnight accommodations with a student host in a residence hall are offered to high school seniors for one night during the week (Monday-Thursday), on a first come, first serve basis* while Northwestern classes are in session (October-April). Each individual overnight request should be made one month in advance. We ask that students initiate a Northwestern application before requesting an overnight stay. Visit www.commonapp.org to start your application today! Overnight visits in April are reserved for admitted students.

To request an overnight visit:

  1. Click on the checkbox next to the event you would like to attend.
  2. Click on the "Other Event Actions" dropdown menu at the upper right of the calendar.
  3. Select the "Sign Up For Event" option on the menu.
  4. Fill out and submit the request form.

Please note this is not a confirmed reservation. Your request will be confirmed immediately, however we ask that you avoid making travel arrangements until you have received an official confirmation from our overnight email account: ug-ion@u.northwestern.edu.

The Overnight Office is staffed Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After we receive your request, an overnight coordinator will contact you within 48 hours. For more information, please contact us at 847-491-8733 or ug-ion@u.northwestern.edu.

* We can accommodate up to ten visitors each night. If you have requested an evening that is already full, you will be given the option to be placed on a waiting list. If space becomes available, you will be contacted directly by one of our overnight coordinators to schedule your visit. We ask that you complete only one request form. If you would like to request alternate dates, there is space available at the end of the form.
