Facilities
Since 1895, the School of Communication has occupied Annie May Swift Hall; the departmental and faculty offices as well as classrooms for the department of Performance Studies and Radio/Television/Film are located there. The Office of the Dean (administrative offices), Communication Studies, and Communication Sciences and Disorders (including The Hearing Clinic, The Learning Disabilities Clinic and the Speech and Language Clinic) are housed in the Frances Searle Building, a modern, 415-room structure designed for instruction, research, and clinical service which underwent an elaborate renovation in 2001. The John J. Louis Hall is the home of production for the Radio/Television/Film department. The theatre department's principal home is the Theatre and Interpretation Center, which houses a proscenium and a thrust theatre, two black-box theatres, rehearsal rooms, and state-of-the-art production support facilities. New digital media studios in Kresge Hall and Fisk Hall provide opportunities for advanced design work.
