Combined degrees

The McCormick School has put together specialized combined degree programs to meet your educational goals and interests.

Five-year BS/BMus or BS/BAMus in engineering and music

One of the two officially recognized dual degree programs through the School of Music, students in this program must be admitted to both the School of Music and the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.

BS/MS Program

You can earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in four years if you participate in this program.

Honors Program in Medical Education

The Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME) is designed for unusually gifted and highly motivated students who seek careers in medicine or medical science. HPME students participate in a flexible, individualized program that shortens the length of premedical study by one year. A select group of freshmen are admitted to the program each year and are simultaneously admitted to Northwestern University Medical School.

Five-year BA/BS in liberal arts and engineering

A possible option for students in the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science interested in combining liberal arts and engineering, this five-year program results in a BA from Weinberg College and a BS in a specific area within engineering. Students should file a petition outlining this dual plan of study before their fourth year. Both schools must approve the petition.
