Distribution requirements

All curricula leading to a BS have the same basic structure. Students must take 48 courses (4 per quarter), including

  • Mathematics (4 courses)
  • Basic science (4 courses)
  • Basic engineering (5 courses)
  • Social science or humanities (7 thematically related courses)
  • Design and communications (3 courses)
  • Engineering analysis and computer proficiency (4 courses)
  • Electives (5 courses)
  • Major engineering discipline (16 courses)
